Training Goals – 1/4/10 – 1/10/10

Training Goals – 12/28 – 1/3

Monday: weights – SUCCESS! Go me!

Tuesday: indoor bike trainer – 30 minutes – FAIL! Due to the freak snowstorm, by the time I got home, I had lost all motivation.

Wednesday: weights + elliptical – FAIL! I am lazy.

Thursday: rest – SUCCESS! Once again, I totally rocked the rest day! Go me!

Friday: easy New Year’s run – SUCCESS! I ran 3 miles at a 10:32 pace.

Saturday: bike – SUCCESS! I rode 20 miles at about an 11 mph speed. I also realized, after looking back through my records, that it was the first time I had ridden 20 miles in a row since May 2008 (failed century ride, where I actually rode about 55 miles). I was so traumatized after that ride, that it was a few months before I did anything but bike commutes at all.

Sunday: run – 7 miles – SUCCESS! I actually ran 7.78 miles at just over 12 minute mile – all those cough stops really slowed me down. Thanks to my best running buddies for walking whenever I needed it! I have felt pretty good the rest of the day, though, and I really do believe that this cough is on its last legs.

    I won’t kill you I promise =).

Also, my Garmin said 1:29:12 so under 12 minute miles. (aka my Garmin is better, hehe)

See you Wednesday if not before.

I like your time! You did finish ahead of me, but I think when we stopped to talk to Mr. Pi & your co-worker, that I didn’t pause, so maybe I wasn’t QUITE as slow as I thought.

Catching up on your last few posts here –

1.) I didn’t know you used to live in LA
2.) slightly creepy child – ah, waht?!
3.) Your 2010 goals look awesome. I love your urge to read ‘non-school books’ during the school year. I don’t know where you find the time, let alone desire to not want to veg out when not reading text books, but it’s awesome!
4.) 3 pull ups – you can totally do that!!!
5.) Drinking a bottle of wine is inaproapriate stress managment? Says who? Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do 😉

      1) I lived there for seven years, and I both loved it (weather in January, yes!) and hated it (fake people & traffic!).
      3) I have always been a HUGE reader, plus I take the bus to work a lot, and I find it hard to concentrate on school books on mass transit. And there are school breaks, too! So many opportunities to read.
      4) I hope so, so far I’m up to zero.
      5) It’s inappropriate stress management from the viewpoint of my pants, which would appreciate not having to work so hard to stay buttoned. Occasionally, it does work for stress management, but on a frequent basis, I could probably find a better way.
