Holy Crap – It’s November
So – yesterday was pretty good. I worked, I ate, I worked out, I ate (are you noticing a theme)? The architect & I celebrated one year of wedded bliss with pizza and wine and the neighborhood children.
It’s been a long time since I’ve lived in a house, so we had no idea what to expect. When I got home at 7:30, I rang the doorbell so I could get some candy (I was in my runner’s costume and figured all that spandex deserved a Hershey’s special dark), but no one answered the door! I was so sad 🙁
It turned out our doorbell was broken, and the 2 groups of trick-or-treaters that had gotten candy from my monk architect had been spotted by him on a trip by the window.
SO! I made a beautiful sign, with illustrations, to encourage people to knock – and they did! We had a bunch of teenagers later, but we ended up with some adorable little super heroes, and one tiny little lion who was so cute that she almost was eaten by me.
It was a good relaxing evening. I gave the architect a calendar that I made my very own self with photos of us from the last year. He is giving me a portrait of myself. Which is hella cool.
Today is busy, busy, busy. It is the start of nanowrimo AND my last day in the office until Tuesday afternoon. (Tomorrow is a staff retreat, and then I’m in LA – which is going to be sunny & 80 – thank you, LA!)
So – I’ve been trying to get lots and lots done so I can go home and write more and relax.
Not sure if I’ll be back on before Tuesday – you never know. I’m unpredictable like that.
