Writerly Wednesday: The Waning Moon Cover Reveal
In just under two weeks, my second book, The Waning Moon, will be released into the wild.
I’m not quite as nervous about this book as the last one, but still. I wrote it. These are my words, in the order in which I put them in, out there for you to read.
One of the best parts of this journey has been the amazing people I’ve had the privilege of getting to work with and know. Not least among these is my cover artist, Skyla Dawn Cameron from Indigo Chick Design. Working with her is a pleasure. Also, and this is not inconsequential, she is much better at cover design than me.
I’m all: “chick with a sword, maybe a couple guys lurking, add some wolves, a clown, three bears, a full moon, a cemetery, a henge, and then, just to be creative, another moon.”
Skyla takes that, along with my book description, and gives me this:
I mean, it’s missing a lot of the things I wanted, but I think we can all agree that the clown would’ve just been too much. (Particularly since – and I don’t think this is too much of a spoiler – there are zero clowns in The Waning Moon.)
The Blurb
Eleanor Morgan is on a quest that will destroy technology but save two worlds.
With two gates down and six to go, Eleanor and her companions are in a race against time and innumerable supernatural enemies to restore magical balance and free passage between the mortal world and the Fae plane.
Eleanor must learn to rely on her allies and her own abilities if she’s going to survive, but trust is hard to come by. Betrayed by her best friend, she must learn to depend on and work with her new supernatural companions while navigating a tempestuous relationship with Isaac, developing a friendship with the vampire Raj, and learning to master her magical gifts with the help of Florence.
Can she successfully navigate a world of mixed allegiances where everyone has their own agenda before the magical imbalance destroys two worlds?
The Preorder Links
(I was really hoping the Nook & iBook preorders would be up by this morning, but they are taking their sweet time. I’ll update this post and push it out again when I have that information.)
(It will be published again in paperback! I’ll let you know when that’s available for preorder!)
In the meantime, you can add it to your “to read” pile in Goodreads, as well!
I’m so excited to release my second baby into the world, and I hope you enjoy it!
