PORN!!!

After a short hiatus, we are back to our regularly scheduled shoe porn. This week features wedding & formal shoe porn, due the request of the newly afianced Emily.

Since traditional wedding shoes are white, and that can be a) boring or b) hard to re-use, I am mixing things up a bit. I don’t know if Emily will going traditional white or off-white gown, but I am going to include some white shoes (of course), some metallics (great for other formal or semi-formal events), and a few formal shoes that wedding guests, cocktail party attendees, etc. could wear.

I also wanted to include a variety of different price points, since I’ve no idea what Emily’s budget will be. I have to tell you that I spent twice as much on my wedding shoes as on my wedding dress (which I got on super clearance at Macy’s, because I wasn’t going the traditional route, and instead went the ‘show as much cleavage as possible’ route due to the lack of shopping companions. Emily? make sure you take at least one girlfriend wedding dress shopping with you. Most people do, but I that’s about all the dress advice I can offer.)

So – some shoes:

Pelle Moda Colette Sandal - $143 at Nordstroms

Pelle Moda 'Colette' Sandal - $143 at Nordstroms

Linea Paolo Glamorous Sandal - $140 at Nordstroms

Linea Paolo 'Glamorous' Sandal - $140 at Nordstroms

Jimmy Choo Myrtle - $940 (*cough*) at Bluefly

Jimmy Choo 'Myrtle' - $940 (*cough*) at Bluefly

Two Lips Galaxy T-Strap - $80 at Nordstroms

Two Lips 'Galaxy' T-Strap - $80 at Nordstroms

Touch Ups Alana Sandal - $53 at Endless

Touch Ups 'Alana' Sandal - $53 at Endless

With the exception of the Jimmy Choos (which I am now passionately in love with), most of these are reasonably-priced (or at least closer to reasonably priced) – the last two are down-right frugal!

I found so many beautiful shoes at Nordstroms – they have a great online selection. If I were to link to ever pair that caught my eye, I’d be spending the rest of the day looking at shoes (hmmm…..that doesn’t sound too bad, actually).

So – questions? Comments? Likes? Dislikes? Planning a winter wedding & need some non-sandal choices? Need my mailing address to send me those Jimmy Choos? (size 6, please.) Let me know.

Also – if you are a married person, please feel free to send me a picture of your shoes & their history, and I will totally post it.

Next week, we’ll be looking at the new trends for spring (as I’m about over this ‘winter’ thing that’s going on and am ready for some sandals already!).

  1. Oooh, lovely selection!! I need to email miss Emily too, now that I am very much entrenched in the wedding planning process.

And ‘scuse me, but I seem to remember requesting wedding worthy wedges for a future porn installment. 😉

I am planning on seeing you on the 22nd fo sho!

  2. Oh goodness, I’d fall flat on my face if I tried to wear any of them. (And given my generally butch appearance all my friends would die laughing to see me teeter around on them). But I have to concede, for girlier girls, these are all very pretty!

  3. Ooohoh ahhhhhhhh!

    I love it!

As for budget, I don’t really have one until I find the dress. I want to spend no more than $500 for both the dress and shoes, which honestly seems like a lot to me right now (but I know realistically isn’t). I can’t believe how expensive wedding dresses are! I would ideally like to find something right off the rack that isn’t tagged “wedding”. I want something short and modern with a vintage twist – white or gray/silver are viable options too. I want something that I can wear again and as my fiancee has requested, has tons of boobage. Nice.

So, if I go short, this makes the shoes that much more important. I love these be-jeweled strappy options! Thanks Gazelle!

  4. Very purty! I wore non-traditional shoes and went for baby blue. I was also limited b/c wedding dresses don’t come in extra long…I couldn’t wear heels over about an inch without having a high water dress. Baby blue flip flops…I was comfy and seriously under budget as I bought them at target for $5 =). I would have loved to wear fancy schmacy Jimmy’s BUT no one saw my feet anyway =).

  5. Love the first pair and of course, the Choos! I’m drooling. Seriously. As there is no wedding on my horizon in which I play the part of bride, guess I’ll just have to buy pretty, jewel-encrusted sandals simply because I’m kick ass and deserve them! 🙂

  6. I wore white satin kitten heeled pumps with a jeweled detail. Sounds so tame now but at the time they were in style. How I wish I’d worn the Jimmy Choos instead!

I may have bombed on the shoes, but I got the prince part right 🙂

  7. Gorgeous!! Loooove the glitzy embellishments on them. So pretty.

I wore a basic white strappy shoe with a very high heel- I was fitted for my dress before I had shoes so they HAD to be a specific height (I think like 3 1/2 or 4 inches, they were very high!). They weren’t that great but my dress was fabulous. 🙂

  8. my toddler just announced I have BOO BOO feet (and it IS sandal weather up in herre).

I need a pedicure before i can even view the porn.

  9. Hmmm… I gotta say, I don’t love them. But I have a thing about the middle strap thingy. Don’t like the look at all on me. I seems to make my wide feet look EXTRA wide. I wore flip flops for my first wedding, but will proabably wear a short (tea length) dress for my last wedding… So I am thinking I need some kick ass shoes. But it will be much outside (grass) and deck (spikey heels slipping through boards I envision) so I need some wedge type shoe. So basically, I second Thick chick in her request! 🙂

  10. i’m sending you an email of my wedding shoes, i went a little extravagant with 2 pairs, one of jimmy choos and one stuart weitzmans but i loved loved loved them. were they worth the cash? i dont know, but it was something special and who knows if i’ll ever buy another pair again…
