Homeless No More

People of the world rejoice.

The architect and I will not be homeless in August. We have a place to live. Now we just have to find pesky jobs so that we can pay for said place.

I don’t know much about the complex or the neighborhood, but I don’t care. It can’t be worse than when I spent a year in exile in Hawthorne (CA), because, well, #1: It’s in Portland.

We are signing a six month lease. The place is 2 bedrooms. It is bigger than where we are now. All utilities are included. Also included? Cable. I have not had cable in 7 years. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with that. You may never hear from me again after I discover snow-free programming in English! Oooooh…pretty pictures!

All of this? For half of what we pay now on just rent (not including utilities). I think the only thing we need that they don’t give us free is high-speed internet. WOO! We have a place to live. I promise not to complain about it until at least January 2007.

I am so freaking excited that I can hardly contain myself.

I am so excited that I am experiencing logorrhea.

This is damn exciting stuff. This completely makes up for the fact that my (younger) sister called me last night to tell me that she just had her home loan approved. Especially since her house is in the eastern ‘burbs of Rapid City (read: the empty prairie and not the pretty Black Hills).  So, I totally win.  Not that this is a competition or anything.  But still.

Wow.

Now I just have to find a job.
