isn’t it ironic?
i·ron·ic /a??r?n?k/
–adjective
1. containing or exemplifying irony: an ironic novel; an ironic remark.
2. ironical.
3. coincidental; unexpected: It was ironic that I was seated next to my ex-husband at the dinner.
Does this fit? I hate using the word, because ever since Alanis Morissette sang that damn song, I’m so afraid of misusing the word, but I think this might fit.
And I quote… “[Those people] are out to get us. They sent us an email, that phone call you just got, that was probably them. We’ll probably start getting letters from them tomorrow. They’re always after us, trying to slander us. They did it 16 years ago, and they’ll do it again. They’re all paranoid psychotics who aren’t right in the head. They’re not all mentally there.”
Ahhh…the joys of work.
