Shoesday! Summer Shoes Edition

Tomorrow is the beginning of summer here in the Pacific NW. And, in honor of the next two – three months of warm weather and minimal rain, I bring you summer shoes!

Because I have some taller readers, and some readers who don’t do heels, and some readers who likely prefer men’s shoes, I am going to mix it up a bit! It is super hard for me to choose flat sandals, so you’ll have to tell me if my selection sucks.

However, call me sexist if you must, but the men’s sandals collection is a definite no-no for the discerning guy. It’s all flip-flops and crocs. Poor men – such few awesome summer shoe choices! I guess, if you’re a man, your summer shoe is a loafer? Although I would LOVE to see my friends Brian & Fredo sporting these out & about:

Diesel Splish

First off – men’s casual loafers & boat shoes:

Kenneth Cole Reaction Sun-ny Day

I don’t really have a lot of commentary for the men’s shoes. I’m not sure the architect would wear these (although I should ask before making assumptions). But – they are both casual and likely office appropriate.

Sperry Top-Sider A/O 2-Eye

These Sperry’s are kind of fun, although less work-ready and more hanging out on the yacht ready. Of course, I know all of you have yachts, so this should be perfect for you!

Lacoste Croseir Sail 6

I really like these, and if I though the architect would wear them, I’d buy them in a heartbeat.

However, I really do need a man’s opinion on these…so, gentlemen: Thoughts?

Ladies’ flats:

Aerosoles Opalescent

I think these Aerosoles are really pretty, and I’d actually consider getting a pair for myself. Also, they look so cushiony and comfy!

Steve Madden Strikka

I’m not sure how I feel about these. Part of me likes all the different colors on the bands. Part of me thinks I would buy these and then hide them in the back of the closet because I could never determine what to wear them with.

Cole Haan Air Kierin

Again – comfy! And work appropriate! (And not FLAT, but still flat-ish enough, right tall folk?)

Musn’t forget that all important reader demographic! BABY shoes:

Primigi Blessy

Ahhh – so cute!

Vans Classic Slip-On

These are also fun. I love the little argyle hearts!

Livie & Luca Bloom

These are freaking adorable. The fun green! The little flower! I am dying of the cute.

And, of course, little boy shoes (I am resisting buying them all – dude doesn’t need shoes! He is a tiny baby!)

pediped Flipper

Squee! Tiny boat shoes!

Stride Rite Aiden

Squee! Tiny hiking sandals! (Just like daddy’s!)

Kenneth Cole Reaction Kids Doing Climb II

Squee! Tiny Kenneth Cole sandals! My baby definitely needs Kenneth Cole sandals for all that non-walking he does AND for the length of time it will take him to grow out of these, right? RIGHT?

Sigh.

And now – my favorite section – the summer heels!

Steve Madden Manngo

I love a wedge heel AND these look so fun and beachy!

MICHAEL Michael Kors Grace

These are definitely NOT beachy, but they are very, very tall, and I love the center strap with the buckle. Great touch.

Franco Sarto Carnival

The only think I love more than a woven wedge is a cork wedge. Also, these remind me of the high, grown-up version of Dr. Scholl’s – which were so awesome when I was a kid. I did have a pair once (probably knock-offs), but they weren’t green suede!

Dr. Scholl’s Wood Original

Green suede Dr. Scholl’s = awesomesauce!

Happy Shoesday, shoe lovers!  Do you have a favorite summer pair that you’re dying to share? Some sandals you’re lusting after? Gifts of shoes for me? Let me know in the comments.
