Maybe I’m more like a gazelle……on SPEED!

Last night, I got home a little earlier than usual, so I decided to go for a run.  I’d been reading that people who do training runs at an 11:30 minute mile pace can often shave at least a minute off that for races.  So, I decided to run fast (not as fast as I could – just fast) for 30 minutes and then map it later (I love map my run).  So, I did.

I ran 3.07 miles in 30 minutes exactly.  That’s a 9:46 pace.  And – that’s very nearly a 5K.  Which means that I can probably run a 5K in under 30 minutes.  Which is hot.  Even when I added in my cool-down for the last 6 minutes, I still averaged 10:12 pace over 3.67 miles.  I finally feel like a real runner!  I’ve already run 15 miles this week, which is pretty damn cool, I think.

In other news, my shoes are here!  Well, here-ish.  They are somewhere in the vicinity of my office – I just need to track them down.  The overnight shipping may no longer be promised, but apparently it is actually happening.

Other exciting news – last night, the architect, my cousin, her bf & I went to a local pub for Pub Trivia night.  And we won!  We beat two-time defending champs.  Which may mean that we have to return next week to defend our title – although next week, we may drink fewer beers – especially since the prize is….beers.

So glad that the week is half over.  Seriously.  This work thing?  Not really for me.
